Before calling for AC repair, Orlando, you may want to check a few do-it-yourself troubleshooting steps first. You may be able to get your air conditioner back on right away and save the expense of a service call.
-If you feel air blowing, but it isn’t the right temperature. Check the outdoor unit. If it’s off, check to make sure the breaker hasn’t tripped.
-If it’s the indoor fan that’s off while the outdoor unit is on, again check the breakers. While their power is off, you can also check for any loose wires — you can replace these if you’re comfortable with electrical work.
-If all the motors are running, but there is little or no airflow, check for ice buildup. Occasionally, your air handler will freeze over and the ice will prevent the airflow. Turning the unit off for a few hours will melt the ice, and it will usually go back to running like normal.
-If only one room isn’t getting air, head up to your attic. Check to see if any ducts have come loose or been punctured. Often all it takes is a little tape to restore airflow to that room.
-If the temperature is wrong, check your thermostat. Many people may not realize that the settings don’t carry over from cooling to heating season or that there might be more settings than they expected. You also may have lost your settings during a power surge or outage.
If these steps don’t work or you don’t feel comfortable with any of them, give Del-Air a call for AC repair in Orlando. We’ll have one of our experienced technicians head out to your house as soon as possible to restore your comfort.
